Still all feeling a bit like we’d been hit by a sledgehammer, and slightly concerned that none of the ATMs are allowing us to withdraw cash*, we went out early to go to the aquarium before the crowds. Definitely the correct choice as the queues were big (we thought) when we arrived but massive (really) when we left.

Bit perplexed by the people having picnics at random spots, and thumping on the glass, loved the massive rays. The jellyfish section is really beautiful but so not peaceful. I imagine our normal speaking tones will increase by tens of decibels before we leave China.
Coffee (Starbucks, obvs – we were tempted by Uncle’s Friends but not today). Wandered out of the back door of Starbucks and found ourselves in the most enormous shopping mall ever. Managed to source water bottles for the girls to take to school on Monday and had a good walk around to look at the shops. Some familiar, some with fun names. Happy Lemon! Watched a man doing street dance with pizza dough then walked to the (bonkers) tourist train under the river. Lava! Meteor shower! Why?!

…and walked home via lots of interesting streets and shops. Bought new trainers for Jenny; failed to buy a delicious lunch (but did manage Some Food). All a bit shattered again now. It’s hot!
*Now fixed.
